Wayma provided targeted leadership during the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract (SRAPC) Harbour Zone tender, playing a central role in shaping commercial strategy, managing key risks, and negotiating with Transport for NSW to align the JV’s position with the performance-based contract model. We focused on securing a future-focused agreement that balanced client expectations with commercial integrity. Alongside this, we led the development of Aboriginal participation, sustainability, and community strategies to meet Transport’s social procurement objectives, coordinating closely with legal, technical, and stakeholder teams to deliver a well-positioned submission under tight timeframes.
Following the successful bid, Wayma supported the JV’s mobilisation efforts to ensure a strong project launch. We established governance frameworks, reporting tools, and performance tracking systems aligned with contract obligations and internal assurance requirements. We also advised on team structures, onboarding plans, and stakeholder interface protocols—creating clarity in roles, decision-making, and communication from day one. This early-stage support drew on Wayma’s core strengths in governance, risk, and delivery setup, helping the JV move into delivery with confidence and control.

Wayma led the design management coordinating multidisciplinary teams across states to deliver cost-effective and constructible solutions under tight timeframes. Acting as the Project Manager for the SMEC design team, we oversaw the integration of road, structures, and tunnel packages, ensuring design met both technical requirements and program milestones. Our work helped shape a robust and competitive submission for one of regional NSW’s most complex infrastructure programs.
In addition to design oversight, Wayma provided leadership across program planning, risk identification, and stakeholder engagement. We worked closely with Transport for NSW and community stakeholders to address key concerns including environmental impact, regional access, and connectivity. This integrated approach reflected Wayma’s capability in delivering complex infrastructure and managing design governance with clarity, speed, and stakeholder sensitivity.

Wayma led the commercial management of the Western Tunnelling Design Package—part of Sydney Metro West’s multi-billion-dollar expansion—supporting the delivery of 9km of twin tunnels and three station boxes for Gamuda. Our role included overseeing all commercial functions across more than 50 packages, from contract administration and variation development to program controls and strategic reporting. By establishing structured governance, we ensured consistency and alignment across diverse scopes and stakeholder groups, while enabling proactive risk identification and early warning controls.
Through a hands-on and insight-driven approach, Wayma successfully recovered 80% of claim values by leveraging early engagement, robust documentation, and targeted negotiation strategies. Our team worked closely with senior leadership, legal advisors, and delivery partners to preserve contractual rights while maintaining collaborative relationships with the client. This work demonstrates our strength in navigating large, politically sensitive infrastructure programs with clarity, care, and commercial acumen.

Wayma brings deep experience in major infrastructure delivery, demonstrated through senior leadership roles on the $5.1B Woolgoolga to Ballina upgrade. Acting as the senior TfNSW representative, we worked within an integrated project leadership team to oversee the full lifecycle of this 155 km highway project. We managed key interfaces with the delivery partner, Pacific Complete, and principal contractors, ensuring the completion of major civil works, 170 bridges, and significant flood mitigation infrastructure. Our leadership in contract administration across GC21 and key supply agreements ensured compliance, dispute avoidance, and alignment with TfNSW's strategic outcomes.
Our role extended beyond delivery oversight to include commercial management, governance, and risk mitigation. We implemented proactive strategies to identify and address risks early, securing strong financial accountability and effective cost control. Wayma also championed stakeholder and community engagement initiatives, maintaining trust and minimising disruption across impacted communities. The project was delivered on schedule and within budget—showcasing our ability to combine commercial clarity, technical insight, and cultural awareness to drive successful, community-positive outcomes.
